The Saudi Interior Ministry executed on Monday a convict on charges of joining a terrorist organization and taking part in fighting in a foreign country. In a statement, it said the Saudi national had assuming a leading position in the group and had also financed its operations. It identified the national as Abdulrahman bin Sayer bin Abdullah al-Shmari. He was charged with treason against his country and adopting a terrorist ideology. A court convicted him of the charges and sentenced him to death. He was executed in the Riyadh region.
