True to their commitment to uplift the quality of life of the residents, the municipalities of Santa Cruz, Laguna and Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon have created a Poverty Reduction and Enterprise Development Office (PREDO) that serves as the National Anti-Poverty Commission’s local counterpart in implementing various programs aimed at alleviating poverty in the country. The new office is tasked to formulate, oversee, monitor, and implement poverty reduction programs adapted to local needs and to harness mechanisms such as rural finance, enterprise and livelihood development, credit, and savings, among others. Its goal is to increase household income, generate employment, and strengthen the local economy based on available resources.
