Elizabeth is a forgotten celebrity, the daughter of a wealthy Baltimore shipping and real estate magnate, who married Napoleon Bonaparte's youngest brother, Jérôme, much to Napoleon's dismay (he give Jérôme a choice between renouncing his wealth and power or abandoning Elizabeth; Jérôme chose the latter). She would later return to America with her and Jérôme's son—and became an infamous, outspoken icon in a still-nascent nation.
