The Democratic race to challenge U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-2nd, in November is still too close to call after 1,909 mail-in ballots that a judge cleared for counting Friday and about 500 other uncounted ballots were tallied Friday night.
Tim Alexander, a civil rights attorney from Galloway Township, now leads businessman Joe Salerno, of Lower Township, by 544 votes in Atlantic County — up from 359.
