Wall street and big business leaving essentially Small Businesses<\/a> and working people out in the cold they bailed out wall street and then they skipped town and theyre only now just coming back to discuss essentially more bailouts that are getting siphoned up by big business. Well theres no question that its changing the way that the electorate feels about these 2 parties in particular the biggest problem is not necessarily that theyre fighting or that theres too much partisanship its that theres too much bipartisanship theres too much agreement around solving the around essentially serving the interests that they business but not working people and so now we have this dynamic where theres a majority of americans who want a major new party this is actually consistent trends its been increasing for years and the same is true of people who are leaving the 2 parties by the millions and this is also been a consistent trend for years where to the point at which 42 percent of americans are now independents and there is an ocean of people who want a major new party. 3rd Party Candidates<\/a> the people who are running on the 3rd party moderate career libertarian green independent whatever how can very flourish in this moment because its the window is here now and its open how can they both utilize the window. I think the way to do it is to contrast with the 2 parties that are putting themselves so essentially so clearly not on the side of working people to very clearly state with a very clear package of things that working people need to survive at this moment i mean its not a mystery and were in the middle of a pandemic we need medicare for all we dont need to be saying that we should be told it like joe. Were probably over own 50000 deaths now that kind of you could attribute to the current 19 pandemic and theyll be tested directly caused by it and then kind of deaths and kind of happen in the community because of the covert knotting situation such as people perhaps not going to hospital so it was always recognised to look at excess deaths over and above what the average would be and i think thats about 50000 in the u. K. At the moment were getting figures overnight from the government and used to work for the owner so why is there this 11 day delay so that as i said the onus is one of the fastest in the world at reginae so when a death occurs you normally have 5 days then to actually register that death so theyll be a time lag from that and then obviously the statistician the b. O. s the need to click through all of that information get it all in from different parts of the country so inevitably there will be some time lags and you can get the daily data that comes from the hospitals but even asif is from time lag so for example we get to know how many people die in each of the hospitals in each of the 4 countries but we will mean for example of deaths that occurred. Yes today if they were told us they were about 40 deaths yesterday we would expect in about 7 days time to find out there was probably another 120. 00 deaths because of the time lag to decay of the figures in the way they collated does that explain why perhaps we are one of the worst performing in europe because there are differences in other countries although not in how they calculate their total deaths so yeah if you go on social media or look in the press it as a lot of comparisons being made be Different Countries<\/a> and i probably would say you want to treat them with a bit of caution because after yesterday the italian stats agencies thats the equivalent of the own ass what they did is they looked at their data for the whole of march and what theyve actually shown is that there was probably 25000. 00 more deaths in march and would have occurred in a normal year and thats actually more than double what theyve treated to cope with previously so so youve got to try and compare apples with apples and no apples with patches and i think what some of the of the leading statisticians analysts across the world have been kind of agreeing on is that you could go to basically look at the excess deaths without the number of deaths over and above whats actually you would expect that to happen in the country and thats the kind of information that should be starting to come through over the coming weeks and when youve got that ben its better to keep compact countries because for example u. K. May have a higher number than italy because theyve calculated on slightly different bases so i think thats what we need to do is look at the total number of excess deaths over and about what you would expect and that will give us a better estimate as to what the actual comparisons are going thank you very much indeed for joining us.
