The matter came to light after some contractors came to know that no such scheme existed. Two accomplices of the accused were apprehended on December 28, a police officer said. Lucknow: An conman, posing as a firm’s managing director, cheated innocent contractors across UP of around Rs 100 crore under the pretext of granting them government tender of clean drinking water. Police, after receiving a tip-off, arrested the accused from Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow on Friday.
