Three off-roaders, Wesley Hoagland, 54, Virginia Voyles, 49, and Larry Whatley, 72, were fatally hit by a train at about 2:42 p.m. April 4, 2021, near Kingman in Arizona.
Exactly one week after three people were fatally hit by a train in Golden Valley near Kingman, a group of their friends and family plans to hold a memorial and rock crawl in honor of the "local off-roaders."
On Sunday, Wesley Hoagland, 54, and Virginia Voyles, 49, both of Golden Valley, and Larry Whatley, 72, of Kingman, stopped at a railroad crossing east of Interstate 40 near the Giffith Road exit in Golden Valley, officials said. The group was returning from rock crawling in the Hualapai Mountains, a statement from Rocks and Wheels said.
