At least 13 people, including 3 pedestrians, die on Haryana roads daily, according to a report by the Union ministry of road transport and highways. Haryana recorded a 4.44% increase in deaths compared to 2021, placing it 14th in the country for road accident fatalities. The state's accident and fatality count in 2022 almost reached pre-pandemic levels, with 10,429 road accidents and 4,915 deaths. Speeding was the main cause of accidents and deaths, while drunken driving resulted in 141 accidents and 89 deaths.
