STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) â After being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Riverfront Rendezvous is returning to Stevens Point. Mayor Mike Wiza says heâs calling this yearâs event a celebration of not only the birth of the United States but independence from COVID-19 as well. âWeâll have some fabulous entertainment. Itâs a family event so we have all sorts of things for the kids. A lumberjack show, emergency services vehicle display, live music, food, and drinks.â While there are no requirements for masks or social distancing Wiza says anyone who wants to take precautions is welcome to. âWe want you to feel comfortable so we have expanded the grounds and we will have food vendors on the west side of the river as well. But we are spreading out, and if you feel the need to [wear a mask,] then do that. But, if youâre fully vaccinated and your comfort level is a little higher, then feel free to mingle and smile.â
