Here’s latest on the Ongoing Review in the State Legislature of Pennsylvania’s Election Laws. One Phase of the Review is complete, but major questions remain.
This week in Harrisburg, the State House Government Committee announces their three month review of Election Laws is wrapped up. A bulk of their input, after a chaotic Election last November, came from County Election Officials statewide. While not committing to what specific measures may be included in upcoming Legislation, the status of mail in voting and its timelines remains a hot button issue.
Voter ID and how well can the State and Counties regulate their eligible Voter Rolls was also considered. The Lawmakers say the want to talk to Governor Tom Wolf and others before introducing reform proposals. They hope to have that completed by the end of June, meaning there will be no impact on the upcoming Spring Primary Election.
