The Sale of Tickets (Cultural, Entertainment, Recreational and Sporting Events) Bill is expected to be signed off by Cabinet in a matter of weeks.
As part of the new law, anyone found to be reselling tickets for events for more than their face value could face a prison sentence of up to two years and/or a €100,000 fine.
