The subsidy is available to SMEs working in manufacturing and residential construction. ACC says it helps SMEs in these two “high risk” sectors to gain access to high quality health and safety advice that they can trust. SMEs working in residential construction can access the subsidy to obtain advice on managing two of what ACC calls their industry’s biggest health and safety risks - working in and around vehicles and falls from height. Hooper engaged Katie Croft, a physiotherapist and HASANZ-registered health and safety professional, to do the work. Katie came into the factory and observed how people were working. Then she came up with a programme to teach them how to move differently to prevent injuries.
