Python-sniffing dog finds first snake as Florida introduces new way to address invasive species
A python-sniffing dog in Florida has been appointed to help the state avoid ruff situations with snakes.
The new initiative was recently introduced by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in an effort to find and remove the troublesome reptiles.
Last week, a black Labrador retriever named Truman found his first python in Rocky Glades Public Small Game Hunting Area. Another dog, Eleanor, was trained along with Truman to find snakes by introducing the canines to their smell.
