Puducherry Assembly Election 2021 Result Live: Counting of votes begins in Union Territory
08:08 AM IST: Pudicherry Election Results 2021: The counting of the votes has begin in Pudicherry. Couting is taking place in four states -- Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu -- and one Union Territory -- Puducherry -- has started. 07:48 AM IST: The battle in Puducherry has been between the Congress and All India NR Congress led by former Chief Minister N Rangasamy. It was the last Congress bastion in the South which was lost recently due to a spate of resignations. Five Congress MLAs and one legislator from ally DMK resigned in January-February this year, leading to the fall of the V Narayanasamy government in Puducherry on February 22. The UT has been under President’s rule since.
