Adjacent to the Waterton Reservoir the idea was first proposed to council by the landowner in January this year. The proposal would be broken up into two phases with each phase creating 50-60 75’X85′ lots. In order to go ahead the proposal would require a land use bylaw adamant to rezone the parcel of land from agricultural to recreation. Roland Milligan, director of development and community services who presented the recommended amendment to council at their June 8 meeting, explained the normal process would see council approve first reading to allow greater input. This would include a public hearing and input from Alberta Environment and Parks and Alberta transportation.
