Interior Health has awarded a contract for 10 substance use treatment beds for youth to The Bridge Youth & Family Services Society in Kelowna. The new beds will open this spring and are part of Victoria’s commitment to double the number of youth substance use beds. Inpatient treatment beds provide a short-term “live in” environment with daily programming to address the underlying causes of a person’s substance use.
There were 43 new cases of covid-19 reported for Interior Health yesterday, as part of 542 for the province. There have been seven new virus related deaths, for a total of 1,372 in British Columbia. Just under 290-thousand doses of vaccine have been stuck in arms, with 86-thousand people getting it twice.
