Post offices still see busy month for cash deposits and withdrawals Print 12th January 2021 Some £640.7m was withdrawn by people over the counter from Post Office branches in December, the highest monthly total in 2020, new data reveals. The latest Post Office Cash Tracker shows the December figure was up 14% on November when much of the UK was in lockdown. In addition, personal cash deposits totalled £978.6m, up 1.3% on November. Business cash deposits at Post Office’s 11,500 branches were up 9.6% month-on-month in December, totalling £788.3m. Overall, cash deposits and withdrawals by personal and business customers amounted to £2.4bn in December. This was just under 10% down in value from this time last year despite lockdown restrictions across the UK impacting small businesses and the cash-reliant hospitality sector.
