Indiana, PA WCCS AM1160 & 101.1FM Jan 27, 2021 12:52 PM At their meeting Wednesday morning, the Indiana County Commissioners heard from the County’s Emergency Management Director about pop-up Covid-19 testing returning to the county. Emergency Management Director Tom Stutzman announced that they are working with the PA Department of Health and sub-contractor AMI to hold another pop-up testing site will be set up at the former Bon-Ton parking lot at the Indiana Mall from February 13 th to the 17 th from 9-6 PM each day. Stutzman said that there will be plenty of testing kits available. In other business, the Commissioners approved a lease purchase to replace or upgrade various emergency radios within county government. 15 portable radios will be added to the newly-installed jail system, with 12 more portable radios with breathing apparatus going to the county HAZMAT team, and two new mobile radios along with 16 upgraded portable radios for the county probation department. The total cost is $142,146.96 but under the state contract, the county will lease them on a five year program at $31,607.23 a year starting in February of 2022. After five years, the county will own the radios outright.
