(JANSEN ROMERO / FILE PHOTO / MANILA BULLETIN) In a statement on Wednesday, March 17, the church-backed poll watchdog group said voters “came to be heard” despite the rains and wariness because of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) concerns. PPCRV also congratulated the Commission on Elections for the successful management of the plebiscite. The group also thanked their thousands of volunteers who offered their time and service during the plebiscite. PPCRV teams operated a Command Center at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Puerto Princesa to answer questions and take note of reports from the whole of Palawan; staffed the Voter’s Assistance Desk at voting centers; served as poll watchers; and witnessed the canvassing of votes during the plebiscite.
