Residents around Masefield Drive had reported the vehicle, which was left next to a children's playground. Local PCSO's attended the scene and found the car to be off road and with no current keeper. The vehicle, which had damage to it's front, was subsequently removed. Bolton Council can investigate an abandoned vehicle if it has no keeper on the DVLA’s database and is untaxed. It can also be investigated if it is significantly damaged, run down or unroadworthy - much like the one that was recovered. Other reasons can include a missing number plate, the vehicle being stationary for a long period and if it has become the target of vandalism or anti-social behaviour.
