LANSING – Police were investigating a shooting incident that injured a man Wednesday afternoon near Ferris Park in north Lansing.
Officers were called to the area of West Genesee and North Chestnut streets around 2:15 p.m. and found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
A female was taken into custody, but the investigation was still ongoing, Lansing police Sgt. Remson Jack said on Wednesday evening. No other information about the victim or suspect was released.
Numerous police vehicles were parked in the area along the northern edge of the park around 3 p.m., and a tactical team was stationed in front of a two-story building on the northeast corner of the West Genesee-North Chestnut intersection.
