The book, containing 128 pages of fascinating photos from the town's history, is available for purchase at the library's museum store here. In the mid-1930s, Ellsworth Memorial High School was built at 1737 Main Street, on the site of the former Theological Institute of Connecticut. It was named for Erastus Ellsworth, a trustee and original treasurer of the institute. The high school served students from both South Windsor and East Windsor. In the above photo, taken in 1949, members of the school's glee club are pictured in front of the building.
