The latest conflict in Gaza has been the subject of much disinformation on social media. A recent case involves posts shared in several countries that claim to show a picture of a British general named "Alexander Emmanuel" who was purportedly killed while "participating in the Gaza war". But the claim is false: the image dates back to 2008 and shows a British corporal named John Horn. AFP Fact Check found no trace of any British general named Alexander Emmanuel.
