Peterborough floods see firefighters called 200 times It is hoped the floodwaters will recede over night Flooding in Peterborough (Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue) Firefighters say they had more than 160 calls in six hours up to midnight - with more coming in through the early morning - after flash flooding across Peterborough. Crews have been working in the worst affected areas pumping water, and have asked people not to attempt to drive through flood waters. A spokesman said: "The water should now start to subside as drier weather is now forecast for tonight and into tomorrow. "Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Resilience Forum partners are working closely to manage the situation and are assisting residents who need support to find alternative accommodation."
