On Monday, Ben DeLuca and the Delaware Blue Hens landed a commitment in the 2022 class, as Downington West, Pa., faceoff man Michael Straub verbaled to the Blue Hens.
The Keystone State native is the fifth commitment in the class for Delaware and the first at the faceoff position.
“The biggest things about Delaware for me was how honest and open the coaching staff was with me,” Straub told Lacrosse Bucket. “Also, the fact that Coach (Trey) Wilkes was a faceoff guy and has great knowledge on the position was a big draw.”
Delaware initially reached out to Straub in early December. While in-person recruiting and visits are still off the table due to the recruiting dead period implemented by the NCAA, Straub was able to get to Newark for a visit on his own last weekend. He mentioned that he has also taken a virtual tour, as many recruits have had to do this cycle.
