The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has reopened the structure carrying Suplee Road over the east branch of Brandywine Creek in Honey Brook Township, Chester County, following the completion of a bridge rehabilitation project. PennDOTâs contractor rehabilitated the 84-year-old structure with repairs that included encasing the beam ends and sections of the open steel grid deck in reinforced concrete. The bridge is 32 feet long and 22 feet wide and carries an average of 990 vehicles a day. This work is part of nine structures in Bucks and Chester counties that PennDOT is repairing or replacing under a $4,523,491 project financed with 100 percent state funds.
