The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. Friday at 2092 South Military Trail near West Palm Beach. PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera said the pedestrian, identified as Robin Antonio Hurtado Gonzales, 28, of Port St. Lucie, was walking northbound on the sidewalk when he entered traffic for unknown reasons and attempted to cross the street. Gonzales was struck in the northbound travel lane by a vehicle and removed from the road by a friend before emergency personnel arrived.
