Parkway toll collectors get new contract, is it the last one before cashless tolls take over? Updated Dec 22, 2020; New Jersey Turnpike Authority officials settled labor contracts with the remainder of its toll collectors and other Garden State Parkway employees Tuesday. New contracts with Chapters 1 and 12 of International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers AFL-CIO Local 196 were unanimously approved by the board of commissioners. The authority operates the Parkway. The new contract replaces contracts that expired in 2013, however workers received raises and back pay under an agreement approved by the board in September 2018, said Tom Feeney, a Turnpike Authority spokesman. The two unions represent 550 employees, he said.
