PANAMA CITY — The National Weather Service has confirmed three tornadoes hit Bay County during Saturday's storm, the most to hit the county in one day since Sept. 15, 2004, when Hurricane Ivan unleashed four twisters. According to the NWS in Tallahassee, a tornado hit southeast of Laguna Beach, a second in Gulf Lagoon Beach and a third in Lynn Haven. Strong winds generated by the tornadoes caused widespread damage to buildings across the county and knocked out power to thousands of homes on Saturday. According to Frankie Lumm, chief of the Emergency Management Division for Bay County, as of Monday there wasn't any new information about additional damage caused by Saturday's storms.
