However, County Supervisor V. Manuel Pérez on Monday said he was requesting that any decision be postponed to May 5 to allow Palm Desert to review a traffic study and other documents. Pérez participated in a virtual town hall meeting Monday afternoon that was hosted by Palm Desert’s mayor. It included representatives of Oak View Group, the Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment company that wants to build the arena, who answered questions and addressed concerns of residents. “I am 100% fully behind this project,” Pérez said. While the arena is proposed to be built on land in the unincorporated area of Thousand Palms — and thus falls under the purview of county planners
