Over 100 arrested, probe ordered in attacks on churches and homes of Christians in Pakistan

Over 100 people, including activists of the extremist group Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), have been taken into custody over attacks on Christian churches and homes in Pakistan's Punjab province. The attacks were sparked by false reports of Quran desecration. Christian community leaders assessed the damage to their holy places and homes in Faisalabad on Thursday. Reports suggest 21 churches and 35 homes of Christians were burned down or ransacked by the mob. US authorities have condemned the violence and defended free speech.
