A SECONDARY school headteacher is stepping down to start a new post overseas. Emma Baker will be replaced at Ormiston Rivers Academy, in Burnham, by new principal Joanne Williams at the start of the next academic year in September. Mrs Baker will begin a new headship at a secondary school overseas. Mrs Williams has worked in education for 25 years, 15 of which have been as a senior leader and the last five as a headteacher, including at Ortu Hassenbrook Academy, in Stanford-le-Hope, where she successfully led the school out of special measures. Over the coming months, she will be working closely with Mrs Baker, the academy’s senior leadership team, governing body and sponsor Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) to ensure a smooth transition in September.
