An upset-minded WACO boys’ basketball team could never recover from a slow start against #8 Springville on Monday night when they fell 76-53 in a class 1A district quarterfinal. A high-flying Oriole (21-2) offense that averages 70 points a night came out strong to build a 25-12 lead after one and 44-27 advantage at half. Any chances of a Warrior comeback were put to bed in the third with a 19-9 quarter in favor of Springville. WACO turned the ball over 27 times on the night. Vincent Jones led the team with 13 points and Isaac Oswald added 11. Hunter Hughes dished out seven assists.
