Advertisement of real estate projects without registration can make developers liable to penalties (Representative image) BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA) has passed orders penalizing two separate real estate developers Rs 20 lakh each for violations of different sections of the Odisha Real Estate Regulation and Development Rules 2017. In one order, the ORERA fined a developer Rs 20 lakh for violating Section 3 of the Act that states promoters cannot book, offer to book, sell or advertise their properties without getting the said projects registered with ORERA. Any violations in this regard would attract a penalty of up to 10 per cent of the project cost, the act says.
