Article content China’s militarization of islets in the South China Sea, egregious human rights abuses in Xinjiang, incursions into the Taiwan Strait, authoritarian encroachment in Hong Kong, military buildup on its border with India and relentless cyberattacks on its neighbours are but a few of the urgent challenges facing the rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific. Meeting these challenges requires steadfast co-operation. And, though it’s been a long time coming, that appears to be precisely what global leaders are starting to do.
