A report by Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNI) reveals that more than three-fourths of the products manufactured by the 20 largest food and beverages companies in India are derived from non-healthy ingredients. The report urges these entities to ensure that at least half of their portfolio meets the 'healthy threshold'. Currently, only 17% of the products are considered healthy, accounting for a quarter of the combined sales. The report also highlights that just 12% of the products are eligible to be marketed to children according to WHO-South-East Region criteria.
