HOLDEN — While he's an avid runner, Ryan Murphy's routine after lacing up his sneakers is anything, but typical.
Sometimes there's a detour to McDonald's for fries. There are stops at the Holden fire station to check out the trucks.
A playground stop is a must if there's one on the route. And on some lucky days, a police car goes by and gives a little "whoop whoop," of encouragement for Ryan and his running partner and son, Jack Murphy, who loves the sound.
On Monday, which under non-pandemic circumstances the Boston Marathon would be held on Patriots' Day, they'll head out at 1 p.m. to do about 10 miles back and forth in Holden where they live.
