KORAPUT: Acting on a tip-off, police seized a cache of Maoist explosives dumped in a forested area along the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border in swabhimaan anchal in Malkangiri district on Tuesday. “We had intelligence inputs about the ammunition dump. Accordingly, an operation was launched and the explosives were retrieved safely,” said SP (Malkangiri) Hrishikesh Khilari. The SP said the explosives included two powerful IEDs, around 20 kilos of codex wires, 50 electronic detonators, 50 meters of electric wire and 70 aluminium super plain detonators. “The Maoists had dumped the explosives for use against security personnel and civilians,”the SP said.
