An extra layer of Concertina wire or razor wire, has been added to both the top and bottom of the perimeter fence that surrounds the Marion County Jail Thursday afternoon, May 6, 2021. Last year the Marion County Sheriff's Department budgeted $550,000 to replace or re-enforce the 6000 feet of fence and razor wire around the Marion County Jail after a former inmate tried to break in to the jail to free a fellow inmate.
