Night beat: Driver faces charges after power pole toppled FacebookTwitterEmail Overnight reports from Jacksonville police: • A Jacksonville man was arrested on a driving under the influence charge after police said he left the scene of an accident that toppled a power pole. Police said a car went into a ditch in the 900 block of North Prairie Street about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and knocked the power pole over and the driver left the scene. Rodney D. Williams, 35, of 203 E. Chambers St. was arrested about an hour later in the 1100 block of North Diamond Street on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal possession of adult-use cannabis by a driver and issued citations accusing him of leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane use and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
