Nifty in election year: Dalal Street may have much to cheer

Equity returns during general election years have been positive in nine out of 11 instances, with a median return of 17%, according to data compiled by ICICI Securities. In 2019, the Nifty gained approximately 14.3%, while in 2014, the index rallied 30%.
