With the exception of vacations, Muench had handled almost every copy of most of the local weekly newspapers in southwest Wisconsin since he started working for then-Lancaster Newspapers in 1988. The people who work at the newspapers of southwest Wisconsin are in mourning as one our longtime colleagues, Head Pressman Phil Muench, passed away the afternoon of Dec. 10 after an extended fight with the COVID-19 virus.
