New Year's Eve luminary release canceled
The scheduled Luminaries Release for New Year’s Eve, hosted by the Downtown Dickinson Association, has regretfully been canceled due to fire hazards the sky lanterns present and a change in city policy that now considers the luminaries “fireworks” under the recently adopted International Fireworks Code.

Due to current International Fireworks Code, the scheduled New Year’s Eve Luminaries Release event has been canceled, as luminaries are considered a "firework" by code definition, and are therefore not permitted to be used within city limits.
