With all-time high property prices, homebuyers are looking for more affordable, innovative solutions like building tiny homes on family land or teaming up with others. But the fine print in the KiwiSaver rules stops some buyers withdrawing their money to get on the property ladder.
It's 50 square metres of sunlight. A little two-bedroom character cottage in the historic lakeside community of Selwyn Huts, just south of Christchurch, looks like a first homebuyer's dream.
