Prince George Free Press » New school policy targets threatening behaviour

School District 57 will implement a new policy this month to address early intervention in situations where students may be posing a threat to themselves or others.
The board of trustees has adopted a policy that involves zero tolerance for not responding to threat-making behaviors. It was put together with the help of the RCMP and the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
“All incidents involving high-risk behavior, particularly threats to kill or inflict serious injury, will prompt a response intended to ensure the safety of staff and students while at the same time, respecting the rights of those involved in the incident,” a district news releases reads.
