New Document Advises Pro-Abortion Bishops Against Taking Communion Reported by Vision News Team | vision.org.au Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 Catholic bishops in the U-S are working on a document that would advise Catholic politicians who support abortion to refrain from taking communion. The Christian Post reports the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops discussed the controversial document at its general assembly meeting last week. An overwhelming majority of 168 bishops voted in favour of proceeding with the draft document, while 55 bishops voted against, and six abstained. The document will provide guidelines for the reception of communion, but it will leave decisions on withholding it up to individual bishops.
