Nearly 150 churches split from major denomination over same-sex marriage

Nearly 150 Texas churches voted to leave a major Protestant denomination during the Northwest Texas Annual Conference of United Methodist Churches over disagreements concerning the church’s position on gay marriage, according to the Texas Tribune.
