The center back was called up by Jose Mourinho for a La Liga match vs Valencia at the Mestalla. He played as a left back in a team featuring Kaka, Higuain, Benzema, and Iker Casillas. It was an eventful match that finished 6-3 in favor of Madrid. Speaking to Real Madrid Television, Nacho reflected back on his 10 years with the club. “Real Madrid has given me everything. It is my family and I don’t think of life without Real Madrid. It has taught me everything: education, values, knowing how to win and knowing how to lose. It is a family. I am very grateful and I hope to be in Madrid for many years,” Nacho emphasized.
