A painting by Ed Sheeran has brought in a little more than $70,000 in a raffle hosted by a local English cancer charity. Sheeran says the artwork, titled “Splash Planet,” is “kind of Jackson Pollocky.” It was created during a 30-day stretch where he was doing “a canvas a day” by “flicking… House paint” in layers. “Splash Planet” had previously been used in the cover art for his one-off “Afterglow” single. You can check the painting out on Sheeran’s Instagram. Sheeran drew the winning raffle ticket (yesterday) Monday. According to Britain’s NME, “a fan on the U.S. East Coast” won, and will benefit Cancer Campaign in Suffolk.
