Murder Convict, Out Of Jail For Daughter's Wedding, Flees From Custody

A murder convict, who recently stepped out of jail, allegedly fled from police custody on Sunday. The 51-year-old man was escorted to Sultanpur by the Maharashtra Police to attend his daughter’s marriage.
The convict was identified as Ved Prakash Singh. Singh was convicted for life in a murder case in Pune. A native of Anchalgolwara Pakhrawli village, Singh was shifted to Mumbai in the early 90s.
Singh was running a dairy-related business in Mumbai. In 1994, the man committed a murder there and was sentenced to life imprisonment. In 2001, Singh managed to flee from prison and was nabbed in 2019 by the Maharashtra Police, from his ancestral village. Following this, the man was taken to the Yerwada jail in Pune.
